High blood pressure. One of the top internal killers we face today.

It can come from anywhere, and it can come from seemingly out of nowhere.

With accomplices such as salt, stress, caffeine, and even heredity, there seems to be no escape from this health menace.

In fact, many will tell you that you need certain medications to keep it under control.

Thankfully, this article will shed some light on how you can handle your high blood pressure at home without the expense or the time spent with medications.

NATURAL WAYS TO LOWER BLOOD PRESSURE

Thanks to an article you can read on the Prevention website, you’ll learn that there are several ways you can lower your blood pressure at home and without medications.

  1. Chill Out: One of the most obvious ways to lower your blood pressure is to learn to relax. Stress, one of the main culprits of high blood pressure, can be relieved through meditation, breathing exercises, and movements like yoga or tai chi. I personally use the guided meditations found on YouTube to help with my stress and help me get back on the right track.
  2. Say No to Salt: Salt hardens the arteries which causes the heart to pump harder to get the blood where it needs to go. By reducing the salt intake in your diet, you won’t only help your blood pressure, but also help your heart and arteries in the process.
  3. Decaffeinate Your Life: Caffeine, like salt and stress, raises your blood pressure. Limit your intake of this hyper yet silent blood pressure raiser.

And if you want other alternatives to fighting your high blood pressure, you can read an article I found on the Healthline website:

HERBS TO ADD TO YOUR DIET AGAINST HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE

  • Garlic: In studies, garlic contain properties that help lower your blood pressure as well as relax blood vessels and increase blood flow.
  • Thyme: With the added benefits as garlic, thyme is another helpful herb for you to include in your diet.
  • Ginger: For the last spice for this list, we have Ginger. According to both human and animal studies, ginger acts as a calcium channel blocker as well as an ACE inhibitor which are great for lowering your blood pressure.

For more information on what you can do to combat high blood pressure at home, refer to the Prevention or the Healthline website articles listed in this article.
